The LVSM Chamber of Commerce promotes economic development and the commercial, civic, and general interests of Las Vegas and San Miguel County. The organization also operates the Las Vegas Visitor Center and in 2006 interacted with 16,032 relocation and visitor inquiries and has approx 200 members. The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is located on the main campus of Luna Community College. The SBDC ia a part of a unique, statewide approach to the delivery of free counseling, training, and resource material to the small business community. Counseling and informational services are provided in areas such as: business start-up/acquisition, sources of capital, marketing/sales, government procurement, and personnel. The Center also maintains a small business library containing free informational business publications, US Census Data, TV/VCR.DVD video library, and other small business publications. The Center serves San Miguel, Mora, Guadalupe, and Colfax counties. Although all counseling and informational services are free of charge, fees may be charged for workshops and seminars. Dee Bibb Industrial Park is a 42 acre development in Las Vegas, adjacent to Interstate-25 with rail facilities located within a mile of the park. It is designed to accommodate light manufacturing industry. Electrical Service is provided by Public Service Company of New Mexico; single-phase and three-phase industrial power is available. Natural gas, water, and sewer are fully developed and provided by the City of Las Vegas. Parcels are presently appraised at $25,000 per acre. The City Council designates sale proceeds toward park infrastructure improvement to include paving, drainage, curb and gutter, and sidewalks.
